Fast and flexible wide-angle cine zoom, Sony FE C 16-35mm T/3.1 G Lens is a wide-angle zoom designed for full-frame Sony E-mount cinema cameras.
Featured by its fixed T3.1 aperture, this lens delivers consistent performance throughout the zoom range and benefits working in low-light conditions. The lens can zoom manually or includes a detachable servo unit that can be controlled by the camera's handle or an external handle zoom, which can help create dramatic fast or slow zooms. The FE C 16-35 features true cine design with 0.8 MOD gear and 114mm lens diameter for focus and matte box rigs to match standard cine.

The Sony FE C 16-35mm T/3.1 G Optical design includes two XA elements and three spherical elements to reduce chromatic aberrations, along with three aspherical elements that significantly control spherical aberrations for a high degree of image sharpness and clarity, along with two extra-low dispersion elements . Additionally, a Nano AR coating has been applied to limit ghosting and lens flare for increased contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.
Complementing the optical assets, this lens includes an 11-blade iris to produce soft, soft-edged bokeh with selective focus images. To control focus, you can quickly switch between AF and MF with a switch. A linear response manual focus provides responsive, lag-free control for smooth operation. The focus ring provides 120° rotation with precise control and the distance is marked in feet. The switch also features an adjustment for click pauses so you can use the tactile feel while focusing. Advanced Hybrid autofocus supports phase and contrast detection, and the lens also supports auto exposure as supported on a Sony Cine camera such as the PXW-FX9.

Wide-angle zoom designed for full-frame E-mount cinema cameras, this lens is also compatible with full-frame cinema cameras such as the PXW-FX9.
The internal detachable servo unit provides comfortable fingertip control for smooth and progressive zooms, suitable for a slow-moving drama or promotional video. Servo and manual control can be switched by the button on the lens unit, and while it is set to servo, you can control the zoom function with the handle of the camera or the hold zoom.
Constant T3.1 maximum aperture offers consistent performance throughout the zoom range for working in difficult lighting conditions.
Two XA (extreme aspherical) elements and three aspherical elements are incorporated into the optical design and offer superior surface precision for effective control over astigmatism, field curvature and other spherical aberrations.
Precise, responsive manual focus
Linear Response MF provides smooth, lag-free manual focus, allowing DoPs and camera operators to adjust focus accurately and intuitively. The focus ring offers a wide 120 degree rotation angle for finer control, distance scale markings for consistent focus adjustment during multi-shot. The SELC1635G also offers reversible zoom ring rotation, switchable modes between AF/MF and Full guide, and the option to use 'click stop' by providing haptic feedback for precise clicking adjustments of the aperture ring. . When the click stops are opened, the aperture ring moves smoothly and silently.

The lens design features two extra-low dispersion elements and helps reduce chromatic aberration and color fringing for improved clarity and color neutrality.
A Nano AR coating has been applied to reduce surface reflection and increase flare and ghosting in strong lighting conditions.
